Support for family and friends carers at Newtons Practice
You may be caring for someone close to you who has a long-term condition, disability, frailty, memory loss or dementia, mental health issues, special educational needs, autism, a learning disability, or is affected by harmful drinking or drug use.
If you are a carer please let us know so we can add you to our Newtons practice carers register. Susan Read is our Care Coordinator at the practice and she is aware of local services that may be able to assist when either you, or the person you help to look after needs additional support or assistance. Please do get in touch with Susan Read if you require support or advice she can be contacted 01444 412280. Carers Support Information
Look at our Carers board in our reception area with information for Carers. We have more detailed information to specific caring roles available through the Carers Lead, or please see the key carers organisations below.
Carer Awareness is included in staff inductions, and staff training or information sessions once a year. The person you are speaking with during an appointment or at the practice may ask you if you are caring for someone. They can ask for the Carers Lead or other support to get in touch with you.
